1880s Tea Pot and Matching Cream Jug |
Recently I found this gorgeous bone china vintage teapot with matching cream jug the other week. It's very ornate and delicately decorated in gilt - the rest of the tea set must have been fabulous.
Over the years now I have amassed a huge selection of vintage trios - matching tea cups, saucers and tea plates. As well as an enormous selection of sandwich/gateaux plates, platters, cream jugs, sugar bowls, tea pots, coffee pots and cake stands.
For elegance and chic style, a matching trio looks far nicer than a missed matched one - you wouldn't expect to go into a restaurant and be given odd china to eat your meal off of.
Another piece of china I got this week was this 1930s two tier vintage china cake stand in this smart gold finish.
Next to the above teapot and creamer they go together very nicely - ideal for Golden Wedding Anniversaries.
We also make bespoke china cake stands - usually these are three ties and look really lovely when laden with our homemade sandwiches, cakes and scones.
If you have a vintage bone china tea or dinner service, never put them in a dish-washer as the detergent will gradually erode the pattern. Always wash by hand with a towel in the bottom of the wash basin to protect the china - remember it is old and delicate so special care must be taken when washing the pieces. If not on display always store carefully wrapped up in non acid tissue.

Cupcakes fondant or butter cream topping |
Next year we shall be offering a marques hire service, as the weather was so dreadful this year, it makes sense if you have the room for entertaining to have a marquee and keep dry wit your guests.
Must get on with my website. Next week I shall be adding some recipes.
Obviously they have been tried and tested - and are quite old fashioned but very tasty.
