Nowadays you can buy all types of mascara – waterproof,
different colours – mascara to give the impression you have thicker eyelashes.
All types come in a
liquid form in a long container so the application wand can put in on – with your
help.
I remember back in the 50s my Mum putting on mascara – but
in not such a nice way!
In those days there was no liquid form – you bought it an
oblong box with a lid. The mascara was hard and had an application brush a bit like a
mini toothbrush.
How you applied it was to – wait for it ------ spit into
the black block, mix the spittle with the brush and then apply it to your
eyelashes.
Job done!
